Doyers Series at Nats Park
« on: April 06, 2025, 05:55:43 pm »
So carrot top against Gore in game one. Snell listed for game two but he went on the disabled list.  Doesn’t like to pitch before June.  No pitcher listed for Tuesday for Nats but Irvin listed for Wednesday.  Is Tuesday the Rutledge game maybe?

Unfortunately the Dodgers lineup seems healthy.

Tuesday may be a bullpen game with Lord, Rutledge, and maybe Ribalta and Poche if we are down, Ferrer, Lopez, Finny if we are up.

alternatively, Ogasawara's turn I think is that day and he's on the 40 man roster.

So it won't be Ogasawara after his start yesterday.

I expect to trade out of my game tonight. It sounds like the worst of early season weather. Cool with wind after a wet day, if there's no rain.

Dodgers starters lead in MLB in walks given up with 36, Nats batters are 29th in drawing walks, somehow I don't think Darnell Coles will tell them to take a pitch.

Dodgers relievers have pitched more innings than the starters, and have been far more effective with 65 K's and 18 BBs in 52 innings, compared to the Nats bullpen with 23 K's and 22 BB's in 30 innings.  Could see the Nats go up early and then blow leads.

very early posting of the Nats lineup is quite interesting. Vs a RHP, Dustin May:

1. James Wood (LF)
2. Alex Call (RF)
3. Luis Garcia Jr. (2B)
4. Keibert Ruiz (C)
5. Nathaniel Lowe (1B)
6. Josh Bell (DH)
7. Paul DeJong (SS)
8. Jose Tena (3B)
9. Dylan Crews (CF)

Surprises: Abrams resting vs RHP. OK, maybe you want to take him out of the field for a day, but he's just been 0-9 the past couple of days, and otherwise has been one of your top 2 or 3 hitters. Why not DH and give Bell a day off?

Davey getting away from the "stack the top 6 with lefties against a righty" by hitting arguably the hottest hitter, Call, in the #2 spot. Davey back to his old obsession, alternating lefties and righties - L-R-L-S-L-S-R-L-R.  That said, that 2-5 stretch looks nice.

Wood leading off, maybe for the first time? 4 game on-base streak, on base at least once all but one game.

DeJong is 1 for 5 with a double lifetime vs May. He has 6 hits - 4 doubles - this year.

Hello Kitty Day (today) is sold out...Showtime, flowering fruit trees, evil empire, and Hello Kitty is an intoxicating mix, like absinthe, Olde English 800 and Adderall

Lord starting tonight
Seems like they've been holding back him, Rutledge, and Ribalta the past few days, so I think they want to get 7 innings out of those 3.

Justin Wrobleski (lhp) getting the start for Snell.

Davey's lineup has Call leading off in left and Wood dh'ng batting 2d. Bell and Abrams are out, with DeJong and Rosario at ss and 3d. Young starts in cf and hits 9th.

That lineup is not bad for what he has on the roster.

I may keep Wood in LF since he need as many reps as possible, but I can't complain about playing the best defensive lineup possible when I just had another post saying I'm glad the team is behaving like it would like to get to .500.

Last game is Irvin vs Landon "The" Knack. Dude has probably heard too many My Sharona jokes in his life. Did well his first start last year against us. Let's hope the Nats can Get the Knack this time.

CJ and Bell back in the lineup. Call hits 7th as Davey goes back to loading the top of the order with lefties and having righties 7-9. Young to the bench.

Too bad they never followed it up. Good Girls Don’t was ok.  Still, you might have inspired a karaoke performance

How can this team lose 3 straight to Miami and Pittsburg, with no end in sight of terminating the losing streak, be one lousy hit from sweeping the Dodgers? And there should be some firings on the coaching staff starting with Gutierrez and Cole’s. At the same time start cleaning house with the BP.
