I’ve got the new city connect shirt on today for a costco run.  Not ashamed now after a few wins.

Read my comments about James Wood going back to when he was in the minors.

Josh Bell has been incredibly unlucky with BABIP.  He's no all-star but expect his numbers will continue to rise.

Maybe I'm being optimistic, but I thought yesterday's bounce back showed a ton of growth by the young players. After being dominated by Evans in Monday night, Nats hitters took pitches and made Kirby work.

After I declared in the LoD thread that I was selling the team at their low on May 14 the Nats have gone 8-4. I'm ready to buy back in again but I'm afraid of jinxing them once more.

5/11 was the start of Josh Bell vindicating his signing.

.277 / .370 / .489 over 54 PAs with 3 HRs. Done with pretty neutral BABIP, too (.303).

Best record since they were 2 under after the 1st game on 5/6 vs Guardians. Second game was the start of the 7 game losing streak

Losing streaks tend to follow winning streaks but Josh Bell getting white hot may mean this goes for a few more days.

If Nats claw to .500, that matters. Plenty of people will lose their minds and scream about why it doesn't, but I like watching baseball and it's not been since 2019 I've gone to a Nats game after Opening Day where they team isn't "X games under .500". I'd like to do that again this decade.

This is about a .500 team right now, with a weakness at 3B and three wobbly starters, they being Parker, Soroka, Williams. If Cavalli can pitch and when House arrives, the Nats will be a few games above .500

11-4 over our last 15. Reminiscent of the run before Riggleman quit.

Bullpen now 3rd to last in ERA at 6.03 ahead of the A's!

James Wood 8th in OPS in all of MLB, only player in the top 10 under 28.

Up to #23 in the MLB Power Rankings:

Quote
23. Nationals (previously: 25)
James Wood is on an absolute tear right now, and his hot streak has elevated his team to within sniffing distance of .500. Wood is is among the league's best in Fangraphs WAR for the season and is a little bit of a stealthy MVP candidate.
