In the summer of 1971, Bob Short prepared to move the expansion Senators to some tank town with no distinction other than being mid-way between Dallas and Fort Worth. The Redskins' new coach, George Allen, announced, in response, that the Redskins would amke the NFL playoffs...for the first time since Sammy Baugh led the team.
Washingtonians shook their heads. "He's crazy", we said.
