A few ML signings today:
https://www.mlb.com/player/carlos-de-la-cruz-678926?stats=career-r-hitting-minors&year=2024 (OF out of the Phillies system, 25 years old, hit 24 HRs in 2023 at AA)

https://www.mlb.com/player/ivan-armstrong-678371?stats=career-r-pitching-minors&year=2024 (RHP out of the Angels system, 24 years old, was effective at AA last year but terrible in just 10.2 IP at AAA.)

Not  clear if it includes an invite to MLB camp. I guess he's a lefty bat to throw into the OF mix.

i fail to see any logic in this signing other than just 1B/DH depth at Rochester.

Schofff and Adon went on the IL, so they needed replacements I guess?

Andrew Knizner released, he had an opt out.  Had been pretty decent at AAA

UDFA tracker: https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/2025-mlb-undrafted-free-agent-tracker-agreements-for-all-30-teams/

We've signed just one.

Only the Marlins, Guardians, and Diamondbacks have signed fewer (as in none).

This guy is ready for his MLB debut NOW.  13.1 strikeouts per 9 innings.

Quote
Poulin, 29, was 7–1 with a 3.38 ERA (16 ER/42.2 IP), a pair of saves and 62 strikeouts in 35 games (three starts) for Triple-A Toledo this season. His 13.08 strikeouts per 9.0 innings rank fourth in all of Triple-A (min. 40.0 IP). In his final seven outings for the Mud Hens, he struck out 11, held opponents to a .120 average (3-for-25), and allowed just one run (1.17 ERA).

Originally an 11th-round pick in the 2018 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Connecticut by Colorado and traded to Detroit for cash considerations in 2024, Poulin is 27–13 with a 3.44 ERA and 412 strikeouts in 339.2 innings in seven Minor League seasons.

Why would the Tigers expose him like that?
