Bring Finnegan back for the 10th, or go to Rainey?
Bring in Rainey, get it over with.

Also, by not trading him, they made Finnegan a key component of the 2025 bullpen. Kinda think they should baby him a little

Nunez has hurt his leg. Maybe a hamstring. Needs to go on the IL for the rest of the year.

Nice ovation for Rendon

Thanks for mentioning that. I was wondering what kind of reception he would get. I figured he'd still be liked here. He should be. But I bet he catches hell in LA.

nice tribute video too. Rendon brought out Ali modami with him (former BP pitcher)

With the :w: posted, we honor the memory of our friend Old Chelsea with the traditional post that tracks the Nats wins to date, in Anglophile style.

THE RACING PRECEDENTS - Comparative dates on which the nationals notched their 53rd win, each season:

2016 - 9th July (89th match)
2017 - 14th July (89th match)
2012 - 18th July (89th match)
2005 - 18th July (93rd match)
2014 - 20th July (96th match)
2019 - 23rd July (99th match)
2015 - 29th July (99th match)
2018 - 31st July (106th match)
2013 - 2nd August (109th match)
2011 - 2nd August (109th match)
2007 - 9th August (115th match)
2024 - 9th August (117th match)
2023 - 13th August (119th match)
2006 - 16th August (120th match)
2021 - 20th August (121st match)
2010 - 21st August (123rd match)
2008 - 1st September (138th match)
2022 - 25th September (152nd match)
2009 - 28th September (156th match)
---
2020 - finished 26-34

With their 53rd win in their 156th game, the 2009 Nats started a 7 game winning streak to close out the year and finish with 59 wins.

Still running ahead of the 2023 pace, but the 2023 team was near the start of an 11-3 streak.
