So, why is Senzel on this team?

Placeholder. He's stinkin up the joint though.

Given how Kieboom has played this year (.276 / .379 / .345), you could make a decent argument to call him up as a Senzel upgrade. No power, but he's getting on base.

Was there ever a rule a runner had to go back and tag the bag after the batter fouled off? I see there's not today. I guess there never was.

Nunez may look like "Barney Fife," but he fields and runs like a major leauger.

I was taught to do that in little league.

Bill Veeck "walked with a noticeable limp", Bob, because he lost a leg. Veeck loved our great slugger, Roy Sievers, when Roy was ROY with the SLB. After Sievers tore up his shoulder and could no longer make long throws from the OF, Veeck hit grounder after grounder to Sievers, retraining himself to play 1B. Veeck had a hole cut into his wooden leg; he would stick his cigar into the hole while helping Sievers to practice fielding.

Corbin gives up 1 run in 5 innings and Meneses steals a base. The only thing keeping this from the bizzaro world is the Nats still not scoring.

Runners according to this are supposed to tag up after a foul ball. Up to the umpire to put the ball in play.

Shows how much the ChiSox wanted to keep the Nats from bringing in the lefty bats on the bench that they relieved a lefty with a lefty.

Thanks for the answer to that. The reason I asked was because the White Sox runner, I think Pham, didn't touch back to first when he was stealing second and the batter fouled it off.

I guess Corbin was tired of being the only Nats starter to not pitch well.

if you are a believer in FIP being more predictive of future performance than ERA, then you'd say he was overdue for some correction. He's been around a 4- 4.25 FIP for a while, just with horrible BABIP.

Unfortunately, Nunez hits like a minor leaguer in high A. He needs to go to Wilmington if the Nats can work a deal with Miami. Otherwise, Nats have two useless players -- Robles and Nunez -- taking space on the bench.

4 out of 5 solid starts for Corbin, time to trade him.

Isn't it time to use the LH batters?

I really wish one of the 3-8 guys in the bullpen would develop into a stopper type you can bring in with men on. LAw has overall been good, as has Floro and JBarnes, but none of them are great at handling man on in scoring position. Garcia is pretty good, and Weems had a nice one yesterday.

now that they have righties in, yes. Garcia esp. maybe PR Abrams if a slug gets on.
