Gabe is a major dick but the Giants lack talent.  He did a good job keeping them at .500.

The Showalter stories say that the Brewers might donate a former executive and maybe a manager to the Mets.

The Mets plan to introduce former Milwaukee Brewers president of baseball operations David Stearns as their head of baseball operations Monday, said Chelsea Janes in the Post. Maybe Crag Counsell replaces Showalter.

He’s done a good job there with a low budget team. Would be a fool to take the Mets job other than for money. He will get better opportunities.

Once you're an MLB manager with even a tiny bit of success you have jobs for life basically as long as you don't like drop slurs or some crap. Counsell can get the bag from the mets for a few years before moving on to a real org if he wants IMO.

On the other hand, somebody should be able to make that team win-why not him?

Has one son playing at Minnesota and one at Michigan. So he might just want to take time off to watch them play.

https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/38671694/kim-ng-marlins-general-manager-declining-2024-option

ESPN reports the Marlins wanted to hire a new boss for her, so she declined her option.

I assume the Mets are calling her today.

Or she could be headed back to the White Sox and could be hired as a POBO above whomever their GM is now.

No one seems to want the Red Sox job. So maybe Ng goes there?

It's a terrible job now. You have a fanbase that expects you to spend on par with the Yankees and ownership that is acting like a mid-market team

Sounds like several have turned down interviews.
