speculation or a report? Search on line says mri taken this afternoon but no results reported. Was this something carp or Kolko reported?

Sept. 5: OF Lane Thomas (back) to rest
Thomas, who had been experiencing back soreness since last week in Toronto, was out of the lineup for the series opener against the Mets on Tuesday. The team is awaiting the results of an MRI. Thomas, meanwhile, hit home runs in three consecutive games this past weekend vs. Miami, in spite of the discomfort.

"He said, 'It really helped me get my swing back -- I was short to the baseball and not trying to do too much,'" said manager Dave Martinez. "I told him, 'When you start feeling better, remember: stay short.' But I hope this is not something that's going to linger for the rest of the year for us because he is having a tremendous year for us, and for him. I want him to finish up strong, but yet, I don't want him to end up on the IL either. So we'll see how this plays out."

I'm sure it's anecdotal, but it really seems like this season every time the team rallies for some offense, the next half-inning the pitchers immediately give something back.
