Would anyone have batted Chavis over Young in the 9th. Maybe Davey thought you shouldn’t do that to him in his first game. He didn’t get the ball out of the infield in 3 AB’s.
I don't think so. Young drew a walk his last at bat and seemed to be pretty disciplined. Also pretty fast and tough to double up. It took 2 very nice plays to beat him by half a step, max. If you tie or grab a lead, there'd be a need to do some line up shuffling, but there was a way to do it. I just don't think Chavis gives you enough of a hitting upgrade to try it. Of course, Young is the piece you want to find out about going forward, notsomuch Chavis. Maybe the move I wonder about is lifting Alu for Call, but Call has been having good ABs.
