Like I posted in main board yesterday, for first time in a long time Nationals suddenly have trade flexibility. We can move a prospect or two from the infield, outfield, pitching staff and not be completely barren in that area. It was already headed that way with the 2023 draft looking strong early, and the deadline deals gave just a bit more depth.
Had the Nationals even wanted to compete back in 2022, coming out of 2021 there wasn't a prospect pool to choose from. If the Nats this offseason want to start really pushing, the system is stocked to do so.
I think if Pinckney was at this point in his career but it was September 2021, he may actually have been the top hitting prospect in the system depending on your opinion of Brady House.
