Would love to see him back. Can't expect anything, but he seemed nasty in his extremely small sample size last season before getting hurt.
No reason to bother with this. Doolittle isnt part of the future Highly unlikely he provides any benefit in the present. Just DFA him and let a young guy have his spot.
until cronin or another lefty needs a spot, he has a useful role. on top of that, younger pitchers would benefit from having an all star around.
Doo is about to do another stint on the DL at AAA. He was just placed on it today.
Doolittle was placed on the seven-day injured list by Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday due to a right patellar tendon strain, according to Nationals manager Dave Martinez. Doolittle will be shut down for seven to 10 days, then the club will reevaluate his injury and decide on what's next for the veteran reliever. It's the latest setback for the 36-year-old Doolittle, who underwent a season-ending internal brace procedure last July before signing a Minor League deal to return to Washington in November. He was promoted from Double-A Harrisburg to Rochester on June 15. He was coming off his best outing yet with the Red Wings, striking out one over a scoreless inning on Sunday.
Sean Doolittle has announced his retirement.Does he go in the ring?
I know some folks don’t like him for his outspoken political views but the guy pitched through some arm issues for the team so he is A OK with me and his role in the championship will not be forgotten.
there was a time in 2019 IIRC where he was pretty much our only reliable reliever.
