Looks like a long and painful season ahead. I've lived through three Washington re-builds: 1955 - 1959, then 1961-1969, and 2005 - 2011. During the first, the Nats always had Roy Sievers and Jim Lemon, plus Pete Runnels and Eddie Yost, but no pitching. This one seems as dismal as the first several years of the Expansion Senators, before the team traded Osteen for Howard, McMullen, Phil Ortega, and Pete Richert. As Bob and Frandsen showed Zimmerman winning the first game at Nats Park, I wondered who the new Zim might be.
Here's hoping Gray and Gore pan out.
