I was shocked to see the Hokies ranked 8th in the nation although they did take 2 of 3 from Miami over the weekend. They play at BC this weekend including a game at Fenway Saturday which should be a treat for them.

Watching VT @ UVA. Ranked 7 and 11 respectively. Highest ranking ever for the Hokies. Would be fun to see both of them make the World Series although the odds of that are high. VT up 1-0 in the 3rd with their 81st HR of the year!

Hoos won game 2 of the series.

Rubber match is all tied at 4 in the 5th inning. Good battle between these rivals.

Hokies won 7-5 to take the series. Overcame a 4-0 deficit. Second place in the ACC Coastal Division.

UVA winning on a walk-off HR would have been better.

VT beats Louisville 2 of 3 for eighth straight ACC series win. One more series before the ACC tourney.

VT wins the regular season ACC. Quite the cinderella story as they were picked near the bottom of the league in preseason polls.

Thanks for passing that one. I’m not so sure it’s such an easy bracket for the Hokies. Gonzaga are ranked 12 in the official NCAA rankings and have a top pitching prospect. Wright State beat the Hokies 1 of 3 games early in the year. Maryland looks like they got screwed.

Virginia Tech and VCU both will have two chances to make it into the super regionals. Maryland will have to win three in a row.

Hokies punch their ticket to the Super Regional against Oklahoma or Florida. Assume that it will be in Blacksburg.

Maryland tied at 6 with UConn.

VCU loses and will have another chance against North Carolina tomorrow.

In looking at some mock drafts VT OF Gavin Cross is crashing the top ten.
