Scotland v Ukraine playoff confirmed for 1st June.

Who'd be the Scots? - lose, and be castigated, at home, for failing to qualify; win, and you're 'the team that knocked Ukraine out'....

During an interview, the Arsenal Women's team manager, Jonas Eidvall, set out his strategy for successful soccer...'I say you need to think like a squirrel...'   ;)

DC United have fired their head coach (after they won on the road last night against a third-division opponent in the US Open Cup). He didn't last long.

The Chicago Fire lost at home to Union Omaha last night. Not sure if that's a higher or lower level of competition than what DC United faced last night.

They're in a different league (USL1) that is deemed to be at the same level of the soccer pyramid (such as it is) as the team DC United played (the NISA). I don't know which league is considered better, though my perception is that the USL1 is at least better-known.

Fulham win promotion back to the EPL...again - they have been the EPL / Championship yo-yo team for the last five seasons (up-down-up-down-up).  ;)

I noticed Sunderland is having a good year but does not look like they will make it up to the Championship League.  Netflix needs to update that series.

That was a great series, but I doubt the team agrees to it again. Ownership does not come off well either year

They won't get automatic promotion, but are still in with a chance of a play-off spot - three games to play, and a game-in-hand on three of the four clubs currently in the play-off places.

The last I looked Manchester City had a big lead but now Liverpool is within a point with just four matches left. Nice to see a real battle to the finish over there.

If you have access to Britbox, or the BBC i Player, then keep a look out for 'Kicking Off - The Rise And Fall Of The Super League' - an interesting insight into the attempt to create the European Super League, which all ended in tears...

Well, that too.

I'm going to ask my daughter how she happened to be watching with Liverpool fans at a bar in Brooklyn.
