FP, I understand you are being paid to pump up whatever possible, but enough blabbing about Juan. This is how Bob Wolf had to "sell the beer" in 1957 and 1958 when Roy Sievers was computing for AL homer champ.

Focus on Roy's home runs rather than all the losses. Nats:

- 1957: 55 - 99

- 1958: 61 - 93 - 2 (May 4, tied KC A's 2-2 in 9 innings at Griffith Stadium. Then June 24, tied KC A's at KC, 2-2 in 8 innings.)

I'm beginning to like Ruiz.

Turning an inside pitch into a home run was impressive.

personally, I am shocked that a highly ranked prospect with good contact skills who has shown a ton of lefty power is showing good contact skills and hit a homer lefty

I mean, they’re talking about the teams play in the last week, not the season.

I think this is only the 2nd start since late July that Gray has allowed more than 3 runs

Please, in the last week they are 4-3 against bad teams and  they have been playing awful teams Pittsburgh, Miami, Colorado of late, so no wonder they are flirting with .500.

For those of you who think trading mid-tier prospects isn't ever a problem, I remind you that the Nats traded Max Schrock for a rental of Marc "Scrabble" the LOOGY.   Max Schrock just hit a 2-run homer against the Nationals after tripling last night, all while Scrabble files his retired toenails somewhere in a bar in Arizona.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a 2B/3B/LF utility guy on a min salary hitting .316/.363/.505 about now?

stinks now  and it bites you later, but they neded Scrabble at the time. Cistulli was onto Schrock, but he wasn't even a Nats top 10 back then. I can live with that turning into a player. It probably helps Rizzo in the next deal because it shows he doesn't offer chicken poop when he says he is offering chicken salad
