Reminds me of what happened to Tom Poti.  There aren't many players left who don't wear visors...Chara and Lucic, not many others.  And Chara is too tall for anything to reach his head  :P
Unusual for something like this to happen in practice. So they wear visors at practice?

Never saw a penalty reversed like that.

I saw one last year. Chara got called for high-sticking as he fell down. He protested strenuously and after review it was reversed because it was his skate that hit the other guy up high.

Finally over. I was hoping the backup goalies would get a shot

I recall attending a 10-round shootout in the Hanlon era - Caps were wearing the old black jerseys vs the Oilers; Matt Bradley won it after Slapshot couldn't find his skates

They don't shoot. The Caps had a 20-round shootout against the Panthers in 2014 and after all 18 skaters had taken a turn, Backstrom went out to begin the second go-round.

that's ridiculous. If the 18 skaters can't break the tie then the backup goalies should get a shot, then coaches, equipment managers, fans, concession workers, and so on. :)

Swede equilibrium has been restored:

Marcus Johansson to Washington is now confirmed. Deal is done.

I lost track of who he is even playing for now. Well traveled.

And Sprong to Kraken.  That's probably a better situation for him TBH.

He certainly wasn't the only one smoking hash during the first intermission.

John Carlson
He was in awe watching Orlov whiff on the guy and didn’t want to ruin it.

Seems like the Caps has woken up for a couple weeks. Now getting back into first round exit mode.

Does not bode well for the playoffs.  They look overmatched against the better teams.

Where did these Caps come from?  Will they stay?

Entertaining game. Surprised the Rangers are closing in on the Canes. Would rather see the Caps stay in fouth and maybe avoid Carolina in round one.
