I saw one last year. Chara got called for high-sticking as he fell down. He protested strenuously and after review it was reversed because it was his skate that hit the other guy up high.

I recall attending a 10-round shootout in the Hanlon era - Caps were wearing the old black jerseys vs the Oilers; Matt Bradley won it after Slapshot couldn't find his skates

They don't shoot. The Caps had a 20-round shootout against the Panthers in 2014 and after all 18 skaters had taken a turn, Backstrom went out to begin the second go-round.

that's ridiculous. If the 18 skaters can't break the tie then the backup goalies should get a shot, then coaches, equipment managers, fans, concession workers, and so on.
