Eight seasons in the KC organization. Brief look in 2017 with 22.00 ERA. The back to the minors.

So I admit I know nothing of Ryne Harper, but how is this dude throwing mid 80s as a reliever and gets outs? Who is he, Greg Maddux?

Trea Turner is about as exciting as a smaller second baseman without a ton of power can be. What a special young man.

This is payback for that near no-hitter Wacha threw against the Nats several years ago.
Charlie and Dave dared to say the name of the SS who could not field Zimm’s hit to break up the no-no.

Nats send 48 batters up in 8 innings...they plate 15 runs on 18 hits.

Lester moves one game closer to 200 career wins...

OC, it might be easier to compare seasons by the game number when the New Nats got the win. For instance, the 1924 Nationals -- that was Clark Griffith's official name for his team -- started play on April 15, winning the 40th game on July 1, the 69th game. This team is two games ahead of 2019, but three days behind.

THE RACING PRECEDENTS - Comparative dates on which the Nationals notched their 40th win, each season:

2016 - 13th June (64th match of season)
2017 - 15th June (66th match)
2005 - 19th June (69th match)
2012 - 21st June (67th match)
2018 - 21st June (73rd match)
2014 - 23rd June (75th match)
2015 - 25th June (73rd match)
2011 - 26th June (78th match)
2019 - 27th June (80th match)
2013 - 28th June (79th match)
2021 - 30th June (78th match)
2010 - 16th July (90th match)
2006 - 18th July (95th match)
2007 - 19th July (95th match)
2008 - 2nd August (110th match)
2009 - 9th August (112th match)
---
2020 - finished 26-34

Gene Wang , in the Post, reminds us:

Quote
Oppressive conditions, with the heat index into the low triple digits, presented an especially demanding challenge for Lester, who has dealt with fatigue and excessive perspiration stemming from hyperparathyroidism. Lester had corrective surgery in early March during spring training to remove one of his four parathyroid glands.

In other news, Verizon sucks. For the second time in two days their servers went down for hours. I was without phone and internet until some time this morning. Did I miss anything?

our two best players may have been hurt during garbage time after Trea hit for the cycle.  Castro and Bell are MVPs, so it's all even.
