OC, it might be easier to compare seasons by the game number when the New Nats got the win. For instance, the 1924 Nationals -- that was Clark Griffith's official name for his team -- started play on April 15, winning the 40th game on July 1, the 69th game. This team is two games ahead of 2019, but three days behind.

A good point, and what's keeping this race still a bit mixed up is the disparity in starting dates - the present season is tied with 2009 and 2015 for latest starting date ever (excluding 2020). These three seasons all began on 6th April; earliest start ever was 28th March 2019.

keeping this on the last page of the thread to be easier to find.

From a games played perspective, we are in a batch of middling starts (2011 2013 2019) and bit behind a great regular season team from 2014
