And all the world over
It's always the same
They've really no notion
Of playing the game
They argue with umpires
They cheer when they've won
And they practise beforehand
Which ruins the fun!... ;)

23 strong miles. They're pulling away from her at the 23.5 mile mark.

I'm not holding on to hope that she can actually win but it's nice to see American Molly Seidel running with the lead pack in the marathon. I'm pulling for her big time! :woop:
wait - she's living in Boston  . . .

A beef I have with the coverage. They do not play the Olympic theme enough. They used to open the show with it. Now we never get the whole thing. It’s an awesome piece of music.

I've noticed that and wondered if there was a reason for it. They definitely used to play it a lot, to the point that you actually got sick of hearing it.

That was quite the finish.  Wife and I were watching in the Lowe's parking lot.  At least the last few minutes.  The USA guy falling across the finish line to win bronze in the 5000 meters was epic also.  Of course he is Kenyan by birth.

Modern pentathlon is so utterly ridiculous, but somehow entertaining

Probably.  Been a bad week of betting.  I believe France was +625 and I could not resist. Took The Aussies in the bronze medal game figuring Luka’s wrist would still be bad. Find it strange that the bronze medal game is after the gold medal game.

The Tokyo Olympic Committee took the view that the US was bound to prevail, and so scheduled the final to maximise the US prime-time TV audience.

Brazil retain the Olympic title - a glorious extra time winner from Malcom. The standout team of the tournament are worthy winners.

Final   Brazil 2 - Spain 1

Malcom sounds like he should be on Great Britain.

USA-France basketball game was really poorly played.  By both teams.  A win is a win I suppose.  Baseball team lost to Japan (Thanks Manfred).
Silver is a good result considering.

USA women's water polo crushed Spain for the gold.  Hope to catch a replay of that.  USA women's volleyball in the gold medal match Sunday at 12:30 AM.

I watched that match. It was a massacre.

I've been watching something called the Madison (I think) for over 30 minutes and have no idea what's going on.
