this dude's obsession with Baker is the creepiest obsession this forum has ever seen and that's saying a lot when you consider the odd obsessions we have seen :lmao:

And those are only the ones we know about.

I can think of layers who had devoted groupies over the years here like Jason Bergmann, John Patterson, Elijah Dukes and Lastings Milledge and Rennie Belliard and Nook Logan (all by AZ), Ryan Zimmerman, Julian Tavarez :lmao:, Mike Morse, Brian Orakpo and that's not even touching on tomterp's many fanboi crushes.

In addition to Davey's sometimes questionable management skills, he has the personality of a bucket of balls. Makes you question his leadership skills even more.

Took a lot of blunt force but I finally hacked BiL's account.

So it sounds like Davey is back next season but I hope they overhaul the coaching staff.

I love how Rizzo is so comfortable with his job status that he's commenting on Martinez. About time for Riz to feel some heat. The payroll he's been given to have produced disappointment after disappointment. Bad coach hire after bad coach hire. Overpaid under performing stars, no bullpen depth, no bench depth, bare boned farm system. Every single person on this board could put together an 81 win team with the second highest payroll in the league.

Yea weird how a guy who took a back to back 100 loss team doesnt feel heat after four division titles in 6 seasons

Ten years ago, and he also inherited a team with no big contracts, I'd rather take over a losing team with no money committed than a .500 team and hundreds of millions locked up for future seasons. Any GM given Rizzo's budget could have built a winner as weak as the NL East has been. I'm not saying he's bad GM, I'm just saying he's not so special that we couldn't do better. It's been a good run, time to give a new guy a shot, before he writes $300 million in contracts this offseason and handcuffs us for the next few years.

I don't think the grass would be greener with another GM. I think it's rather green now.

When their payroll was at the bottom of the league and they were preaching that bullcrap about having to tank to build up via the draft. Can't say that I'm not still pissed about those seasons but I can say that they Lerners have been spending enough the last few years to deserve better than what they are getting.

Why are Nats fans so afraid to lose Rizzo? How many GMs have made an LCS in the past ten years? Hire one of them.

How many of them have more wins over the same time period?

None of them had to deal with a team underwater, with shambles of a minor league system and horrid scouting department. The Nationals were literally the butt of jokes because of zvYunesky Maya and Gonzalez.

Rizzo took that and turned it into one of the most productive teams in baseball with a well established scouting team and one of the best footprints in Latin America.

Sorry but not too many GMs would have pulled that off

Why are so many Nats fans willing to discard someone who's proven to be really good at his job?

Good Lord, proven to be really good, ten years, one and a half billion spent, three lost seasons tanking for draft picks, and not even an LCS appearance. Only in DC would he be judged so kindly.

Right. If he hired a decent manager, the team wouldn't have choked in 2016 and 2017

lolz, he's put championship caliber teams on the field for 6 straight years before this one. No GM is getting fired after a stretch like that.

I agree, but we need a pitcher that doesn't bomb in the first three innings and give away huge leads.
