Yankees in Desperation Mode
« on: June 03, 2007, 10:12:00 pm »
Pettitte went down wincing and favoring his left leg as Torre gave him the hook against the Red Sox just now.  Now the Beantown boys just scored five against them.  Looks like the Yanks are going to need Clemens sooner rather than later.  To make matters worse, the Yankee defense is looking like absolute garbage lately.  With the Cubs already getting ready to go supernova, if only crap like this could happen to the Phillies and Mets clubs too and the world will truly be a happy place.

Oh and somebody would have to slip a bannana peel in front of Barry Bonds for ultimate bliss.   :icon_mrgreen:

Well the Yanks pulled themselves over in that game but its going to take a lot more than miracle homers from Blow-Rod to climb back even near first place.  The days of these miracle comebacks for the Yanks are long over, especially if they just blow it in the playoffs...which is almost as certain as the Braves choking in the first round.

Teams are no longer scared of them.  What was thought immortal is now exposed as very beatable.

Pettitte messed up his back though...he says he's ok, but from his reaction on the mound, I bet he's gonna be on the DL on his next start.
