Streaking (9 of 11)

With the schedule leading into the ASG, .500 at the break is obtainable if not a few games back over.

The last 4 series before the All-Star Break are Miami, Detroit, Miami and Kansas City (15 games). That will make or break the season. They need to win at least 10 of those games.

Well if nothing else these past few weeks haven't been a depressing time to be a fan.

Who knows what the future holds. The bullpen is still not good enough to sustain winning stretches and beat the contenders (LAD, PHIL, CHC, MIL, STL etc).

They should make a move soon to bolster the pen.

Yea, and those 7 games at home with the Phillies and Braves are huge as well.  Can't give ground to the teams you're chasing at home.  We need to at least go 4-3 there.  But yes, you absolutely have to beat up on the lowly Marlins, Tigers, and Royals.  If we don't, then we come out of the ASG break in sell mode.

I think this team has to prove they can win in this stretch leading into the ASG break, and if they do, then moves to bolster the bullpen can be made.  If they don't, then we're sellers.

Still closer to last place in the NL than to the road wild card spot. They're playing great now but this is what a slow start gets you.

yeah, we have to go 8-2 in our next ten just to get over .500.  Obviously things are improving, but there's a long way to go before we can say we're back in this thing.

I've always been told games in April and May don't matter.  Was I misinformed?

So five games over at the break. And 10-2 in their stretch against bad teams.

From where we were at the end of the Mets sweep until now is a hell of an accomplishment over a reasonable sample size.  I’m excited for our post all star break season and I didn’t think i would be.

This actually matters.  Playing down to the level of crap teams is something we have done a lot of.
And 10-2 in their stretch against bad teams.

We need to overpay for bullpen help before the deadline.

never did like him, but he has been nothing but consistent, and pretty much lights-out for a (sadly, more than expected) pretty bad team--ken giles.
