For people that come straight from work.
Just leave your backpack or briefcase at work for one night.  That’s what I used to do.

You're making the invalid assumption that everyone has a secure place to leave stuff at the office. I don't, and therefore the only things I leave there are things that would not matter too much to me if they were to disappear.

My secure place was under my desk. Keep them at home then those days? Do people need lockers for the classified papers they mistakenly took from the office?

If you have a computer that you need at both work and home, then you need to take it to the park. There isn’t a way around it. It’s either that or leave it unattended somewhere.

They allow 16"x16"x8" bags...just not "backpacks."  Would a laptop computer not fit in most anything that size?

The airlines restrict carry-ons...I don't see this as being much different...and perhaps more liberal than any other sporting event...

Would you try to take a backpack into the Capital One Arena?

I think they have been banning backpacks for years?

I think most laptop bags would be OK. See the bag on the right under "Approved Bags".

I was just replying to the comment about not bringing stuff to the park.

Does anyone know why a huge messenger bag is OK, but a backpack isn’t?

You can fit a pressure cooker in a backpack but not in a messenger bag.

My guess it it comes down to how easy it is to search. A backpack is deep, usually with lots of interior pockets.  Easier to see all the way to the bottom.

Grim. But accurate.

We should ban collared shirts, ties, and any pants with a crease in them from the ball park as well. Bunch of freaking fair weathered yuppies.

Also, it should be noted that there is nothing inherit in the pressure cooker that makes it the bomb, other than being a tight fit. You could get the same effect with a pipe bomb. Which means it could fit in any bag you want.

Why stop there...ban them altogether

Yes, ban people. Only dogs should be allowed in the park.

Oh no doubt. Why do you think I have my Gatling AR15s and quadstack 300 bullet drums with hypersonic cat killing rounds?

just be sure to point those at your face when the cats are there.  You might become  disoriented if you don't concentrate.

You're making the invalid assumption that everyone has a secure place to leave stuff at the office. I don't, and therefore the only things I leave there are things that would not matter too much to me if they were to disappear.

Get the D3 Flatpack from Haley Strategic. Not only will it hold a small laptop, the shoulder straps can be reconfigured depending on your loadout requirements. Essentially, you can turn your tiny backpack into a "satchel" and store the extra shoulder strap in the bag itself. Once inside, reconfigure your kit and thumb your nose at this stupid policy....

At least that's what I'm doing this year.
