The goal at this point is to win 82 games, which could be tough. Another goal would be to pass the Phillies for 2nd in the East, which 83 wins might accomplish. 8-6? It's possible, if Davey finally sits Solis down. That guy didn't lose the game tonight but he's just been bad mojo all season.

I know it's really, really, really unlikely, but look at the Nats schedule vs. the rest of the teams ahead of them in the WC. If the Nats dominate the Fish and Mets and can somehow get to within 2-3 games of the Rockies before that last series, things could still get interesting. 1% chance, maybe, I get that.

It's great to have hope, but honestly, the Nats aren't going to pull this out. It's one thing to have blind faith, but false hope isn't good (Foo Fighters - Sonic Highways documentary). I wouldn't be surprised to see the Nats sneak into second place in the division though, mostly because the Nats schedule is lighter than the Phillies is until the end of the season. Phils have 7 against the Braves, 3 against the Mess, and 4 against the Rockies, where the Nats have 5 against the Fish, 4 against the Mess, and 3 against the Rockies.
