Kelley looks like a solid reliever when he comes in games we’re losing. If anyone expressed any interest in him he would fly out of here for any value in return.

Then he must be awesome this year....  :rimshot:

That "psycho" had a 1.59 ERA prior to being traded.

He had literally zero market. Again, are you saying the answer is to spiral, keep everyone, get literally no one?

No. You grind and try to make the playoffs.

NAS Whiting Field

I had to google that one.  :mg:

When someone says they’re going to Pensacola for Naval flight training is Whiting where they’re talking about.

So if we're 10 games out of 1st and 7 out of the wild card on, say, July 27th, we should just hope somehow we just magically turn into a team that wins at a .700 clip? GTFO

Injuries aren't an excuse anymore. Harper is healthy. Murphy is healthy. Max is healthy. We're missing one starter, a mediocre catcher and....?

To turn this turd around we'd need Harper to be an MVP (no signs of him doing that soon), Murphy to be an MVP (he looks cooked), the bullpen to be lights-out (2 guys out of 7 are and no one else has a history of it except Madson), Zimmerman to return and be April 2017 Zimm, Eaton to hit .330, etc. You're banking on all that happening?

I am willing to be patient with these guys and figured once we were healthy (aka Murphy & Eaton back) we'd stabilize but this team has shown no signs of turning it around. We've had ONE good stretch of baseball in three months!

If Kelly McGillis ain't there, it's bogus.

Yep, they do some training too at NAS Pensacola but since the Lexington left it’s mainly Whiting that does pilot training.

No. I imagine that the organization hopes the roster plays up to where they think this team should.

Perhaps some pray in hopes to help, maybe a little superstitious things here or there.

But the hope is that good hitters and pitchers start to perform.

There may be other pilot training bases but for sure Whiting is where a lot get their wings. I need to google that now

Ok looks like Whiting and a base in Corpus are where all Navy pilots get their wings.
