Along these lines, I talked to a beer vendor who works both OPACY and Nats Park.  I forget the guy's name, but he's got a pony tail and was profiled a couple of years ago in the Post.  I had thought he was giving up the Nats gig due to the travel and such, but he said he actually works more Nats games now than OPACY games.  I guess there really just isn't the volume up there to do much as a vendor.

Is that the guy who has the device that opens two cans at a time, and sometimes wears a had with a Heineken can atop?

If so, he's also been working U of Md sporting events for decades.

Wonder if that's the same person who used to work the 300's back in the Nats' RFK days, whom I also saw in Centre Field Plaza back in the early Nats Park days. Does sound familiar.

Different guys.

The new one to watch is the guy who spins his beer tub balanced on his head, then walks up the stairs with his hands in his pockets.

Monday's paid attendance was roughly 36,000, or about 78% capacity, although there sure were a lot of empty seats and I'd be surprised if they had more than 30,000 turnstile clicks.  Heavy Nats fan turnout, as others have noted.  The O's are not used to these crowds any more; the concession lines were brutal and the concessions ran out of a lot of stuff. My sister and husband spent a full 2 innings in line for The Chipper, which is like See You Tater but with fresh kettle chips instead of tots, and when they reached the front of the line, they were informed that The Chipper was now out of chips.  My sister then went to Pizza John's on the suite level (we were sitting at the Drink Rail seats which are awesome) and they were out of pizza.  How can you be out of the thing that is IN YOUR NAME?!?!  My husband tried to go to one of the grills for some sausages but the lines put him off, so we ended up with nachos, which were actually quite good, but really it shouldn't take you 3.5 innings to find something to eat at a ballpark and if it does, it should be something more interesting than nachos.

I will grudgingly admit that Boog's is pretty good, if for no other reason due to the big heaps of fresh horseradish.

no.  Although I've seen Fancy Clancy. He used to do both ballparks.

Yeah, we've known Clancy since the '80's as well.

I think Boog's is overrated.  I think they actually cook the BBQ offsite in an industrial way and just set some up on the grill for ambience.

you look at the size of the beef they are slicing and there's no way they can smoke that much on-site.  Doesn't mean it's not good stuff, but probably all they do is finish it or keep some cooked stuff holding in a smoker.

Oh probably.  But I'm such a condiment whore I am blinded by the thin sliced white onion and fresh horseradish.

You must not care for ballpark food, then.

It's pretty frightening to be on an "on-pace-for" the worst season of all-time by a large margin when you're nearing mid-June.  Chris Davis's on-pace-for in fWAR would rank him 81892 out of 81892 player-seasons since 1901.  By NEARLY A FULL WIN.

Aren't the fWAR position values 7.5 runs for SS, 2.5 for 3d, 2d, and CF, -7.5 for corner OF, -12.5 for 1B, and -17.5 for DH?

He starts at -17.5 as a full-time DH, or -1.75 WAR.

Wasn't Davis hot crap in here at one time?    IIRC some folks were droolin' to sign him.

Hard to tell if he's lost it physically, or has just checked out mentally.
