I can see signing a free agent Harvey was Rizzo's plan all along. Get him cheap and put him in the pen. Not like we have much competence there (written as I see Alfaro crush a ball off Suero that luckily Taylor got a glove up for).

Boras says Harvey sees himself as a SP. Not worth dealing with his ego to maybe fix him in a new organization.

Trade a minor league backup infielder for Harvey, with Boras's understanding that he spends a month in AAA. If he recovers enough to be a 5th starter, that's fine for half of 2018.

I don't want him anywhere near the Nats.     Too many movin' parts.     However, I'm afraid the Lerners may agree to something like this just to get Bryce points with Boras.

It’s kind of a moot point; if the Nats were to work a trade for Harvey, they’d have to put him on the roster and there’s not room on the current roster for a major reclamation project;  and if he actually clears waivers and is released, he’ll be able to find someone that gives him an opportunity to start possibly later this year, meaning he’s not going to settle on an AAA offer with us if he’s behind EJax, Fedde and maybe even Milone. I could see him going to the Pirates, Padres or Cardinals — teams who probably won’t contend this year but aren’t in rebuild mode, have a good track record with fixing broken  pitchers, and don’t have settled rotations, so there might be an opportunity for him if he recovers something resembling his former form.

Only way I'd want Harvey is on a minor league deal. Between the "misunderstanding" about the innings limits, to his arguements with management, to his alleged cocaine use ..... no thank you.

The only reason to sign Harvey is to piss off Mets fans if he somehow learns to pitch again.  While that would be nice, I don't think it's worth the effort.

True, particularly since Bryce Points, when redeemed with a dollar, are worth exactly that dollar.

Although somewhat unrelated, my fantasy catcher took a 102mph deflected fastball off his dick...had emergency surgery and will miss at least a month.

If we played Severino every day like we should, he would be my pickup.

Shawn Hill?  How many people in this org were around and had any real power when Shawn Hill was returning from one of his thousands of injuries?
