Mets wildcard run wouldn't shock me. Their SP racked up 8-9 more WAR in 2015 and 2016 than 2017, and they still have 5 or 6 really good SP. It seems like it will just take some health luck to put them back in the high-80s in wins like 2015 and 2016.

If they got health luck from their rotation AND Conforto turning into a guy who picks up MVP votes, and I could see them challenging the Nats maybe. But that's probably like a 10-15% probability.

i think the opposite sill happen. their lineup will fall apart due to injuries and they just barely get ahead of the Marlins for 4th

Certainly also a possibility. Mets seem like they have the widest range of outcomes of any NL East team.

That lineup still was only worth 5 WAR less than the Nats last season. I'd say that the Mets have a "cobbled together" lineup for sure, but if their pitching gets back on track, then they could pose a threat.

lineup is different in some ways. Adrian Gonzalez will play the whole year? Their catchers also? they, i think will be plugging holes like last year. I dont see Frazier as an upgrade.

Depends on their (theoretically good) pitching holding together. Phillies could also rise in the division table with improved pitching (their everyday line-up really came on late last season).

At the other extreme...could the Marlins threaten the modern MLB record of 120 losses?

I was pretty impressed by what he did last year.

Brendan McKay was drafted 4th overall last year out of Louisville and hit .232/.349/.376 in low-A.
Adam Haseley was drafted 8th overall last year out of Virginia and hit .270/.350/.380 in low-A and .258/.315/.379 in A-ball.
Tim Tebow hit .226/.309/.347 in A-ball and high-A.

Tebow hadn't played in a dozen years since he was a junior in HS, the other two were highly celebrated college players from great programs who have been playing their entire lives. I'm no big fan of Tim Tebow, but it seems like he had a fairly impressive debut and given his athletic background you can't rule out that he could make major strides forward quickly.

Sure it's a publicity stunt and sure there's a 99% likelihood he'll never make it to the majors. But I don't think he's embarrassed himself, at all.

They are our competition as I see it. With Santana coming over and it seems that Arrieta might be there too. I like their team. Their outfield is super talented but now they have a glut with Hoskins out there now.
