Wonder who is next on the chopping block. The way I look at it, Dusty placed Max into Game 5 and it just didn't work out. I wouldn't change that decision for the world. When you pay someone like Max that type of money, you have to hope he'll have his A game when it matters most. So is life...

He also didn't pinch hit for weiters the inning before pulling him out.  He threw Sammy Solis out there twice (Game 3 and Game 5) and it backfired both times.  He refused to use Doolittle/Madson/Kintzler in innings other than the last 9 nine outs.  All those equate to bad in game managing for me.

Madden messed up several times in that series and we still couldn't capitalize.  Give me someone who will actually use analytics

Who would want to come here?  They let you manage for two years, refuse to pay anything worth a damn and then let you go lol

Superstars make terrible managers.

And doesn't he own a competitor now?

I have this sickening feeling they'll look at someone like Jim Tracy, who has never seen a pitching change that he didn't want to make.

After Baker, it has to be an affable former player who will get respect in the clubhouse, not some martinet Standard Decision clone.

Some with #Nationals believe pitching coach Mike Maddux will be a candidate to replace Baker. Sure to be others as well.
