Dunn gets on base and slugs well enough to justify high K totals.  I'd like to have him.

I like his numbers, and I don't mind high K totals. But he goes beyond high. We're talking about a guy who blew away the record in 2004 with 195, turned around last year with 194, and is one pace for well over 200 this year. Soriano strikes out a lot. Dunn is the absolute king of the hill. We're talking the Tiger Woods of Ks here.

Ok, put this in perspective for me.  Relate it in tangible numbers to Sori and our worst KKings.

Soriano's worst year for Ks was actually last year, when he struck out 160 times. Pat Burrell who gets booed mercilessly by the Phillies fans for striking out too much has had 162 and 160 strike-out seasons as his worst. ALL of Dunn's full seasons have been above 160 Ks. The previous record of 189 was set by Bobby Bonds in 1970. Dunn surpassed that with 195 in 2004. Then he K'd 194 two years later. He has 60 so far this year in 42 games. Lopez, who is having a horrible time this year with Ks has 36 with 26 more at bats. If Dunn plays his normal 160 games, he is on pace for 228.

In a very dark, humorous way, it is actually quite impressive.

Whew!  That's awful!  Are you guys sure you want him?

Thanks for the numbers and quantifying there.  I appreciate it!

There are plenty of reasons to want him around. But many will find it frustrating at times.

I wouldn't want his strikeouts...but if it was a choice between having a home run guy and not having one...I'll take one.  I just think there will be better options down the road and there's no reason to settle for Dunn.

I would like to file a grievance against the Reds for being such insufferable douchebags.

What's Dunn at now...13 million or something insane like that??  To the Bronx with you!!
