Nice win for VT. Kicker almost blew the game.

Yeah, but the spread is only tangentially about who will win and more about how to get bets on each side so Vegas doesn't lose its ass, especially early in the season.

I think we both need to sit down and let Howard get its moment in the sun - the Bison beat UNLV 43-40, but were a 45 point 'dog.   AP says this is the biggest win vs. the point spread in college history.   Caylin Newton (Cam's little bro) had 190 yards rushing with 2 TD's and threw for 140 yards and another TD.  New coach Mike London would seem to have them off on the right foot.

Quote
The result was especially shocking in light of Howard’s recent forays against teams from the Bowl Subdivision. In 2016, the Bison lost to Maryland by 39, and to Rutgers by 38. The year before, the Bison played Boston College and Appalachian State, losing by a combined 125-0. (The Boston College game was shortened after the Bison trailed 62-0 at halftime.) The year before that included a 41-0 drubbing at Akron. The Bison went 3-19 over the past two seasons, which is why they were more than six-touchdown underdogs in their first-ever game against UNLV, and why the Las Vegas Review-Journal noted in its preview that “there also has been little news out of Howard because the school website hasn’t provided much information, and the program is barely covered by the Washington media.”

Apparently none of the Vegas books had a moneyline on the game, but some other books did. Howard was anywhere from +55000 to +71500.

Terp QB Pigrome is out for the season, tore his ACL trying to make a cut on the turf.  He was really having trouble on that stuff, had twice fallen without being touched.   Senior LB Aniebonam fractured his ankle and needs surgery also, he's likely out for the year.  Last year he led the team in sacks.

Ouch.

I'm not saying Towson is great competition, but the Terps are stomping them.

Oh, and the weirdest thing about watching the B1G network is all the farm/farm equipment commercials. ;)

Well, he padded his stats against Towson.  Against the real competition (Texas) he was only 11 yards per carry in 12 carries, with 1 TD.  Mediocre.

Shaping up to be a great Saturday for upsets.

Nebraska lost to NIU
UCLA lost to Memphis

Notre Dame and TCU trailing early to BC and SMU, respectively

Virginia Tech tied with an awful Eastern Carolina team
