The one thing about HRod I've always thought, is that he is the one guy I'd hate to face more than any other.   The only upside is you have a 40% shot at getting a walk with 3 pitches hitting the backstop and one sending the bat boy to the ER.  The other options were 105 in the ear or 3 triple digits in the strike zone that no one (including the battery) knew where they were going.
Oh yeah.  He was the type of pitcher where you couldn't ever fully commit to swinging because you might have to get out of the way of one.

Reports of Stevenson having a gold glove caliber glove are not understated

Doolittle stuff is so hard to get on top of like since he has been here so many broken bat and bloop hits.

He's a good reliever, but he's our 3rd best reliever.

Why? Rojas double was luck. his bat broke into 15 pieces on that.

To me, 7/7 save opportunities so far represents a massive upgrade any way you slice it.

We knew he was a fly ball pitcher. The best they can do against him is bloop and broken bat singles.

he replaced Taylor essentially because we had before Kendrick only 2 outfielders.

The two heroes of the game were guys we all would have generously called AAAA players a few months ago. Great season.

True story.  But the pitching was fantastic in this game.  Tanner, Kintz, Madson, and DooDoo all got the job done.

Well, yeah.  Do we have anyone else who's closed this year that is still on the roster?  Albers, I guess.   I like Doolittle.  But damn, I wish Madson could be our closer and pitch like he pitches in the 8th.

And I’m not saying Stevenson might still be a AAAA player, but he was major league tonight.

He's fine for our 8th outfielder.  Reminds me of Langerhans.
