I was really hoping we'd land Robertson, I still think we need another closer.

So it won't be Robertson or any of the Os. I'd say it has to be a RHP and most likely a closer. Who does that leave us with potentially?
No one.

Herrera and Colome were the only RHP closers who might have been available, but both of their teams won't be selling since they're in the race. Iglesias likely isn't available.

Seems like Justin Wilson is their best bet.

Only person I see is maybe AJ Ramos or Maurer that fit that mold.

I'd be wary if it's a RHP or not. Iglesias is the big name but will probably cost more than what the Nats would deal. Justin Wilson is a good bet to look at as well. Hand is going to command a hefty price too, but he is available. Neshek is there but not really a closer. I doubt the Jays or Cardinals deal Osuna or Rosenthal. Oh from the Cardinals maybe? San Fran might put Melancon out there, but I'm not so sure he is what he was.

So in that case we are done except for when we trade for a #5 after the "deadline"?

I intern with DRob's agent so he text me earlier about the trade.  We also rep Ryan Mad so exciting to see him in person tonight at Angels stadium.  Loved the performance by E Jax.

Is there any way Betances might be available?

Cmon, Rizzo, you need at least one more bullpen piece, if not two.

Oh and for those who thought the Dodgers were better:

We have four guys hitting well above .300, with the lowest OBP being .372. The Dodgers have two. If Rizzo can add at least one more bullpen piece and if this team can get back to healthy, we're the best team in baseball

What teams haven't traded with Rizzo, and just Rizzo not the Nats entirely? I know the Orioles and I'm thinking Red Sox and maybe Marlins? Houston? St. Louis? I don't recall a DBacks, Colorado, or Dodgers trade either. KC?

What does everyone think of getting Zach Cosart and putting Turner back in the OF?

No

If Correa and Keuchel both come back healthy, I agree with you. But that isn’t certain.

Why would CLE trade their closer?

Touché...  I thought the Indians were out of it.  Don't pay attention to the AL that much.  My mistake.

They're in the AL. OFfensively, yes, they're good though.

he is not available
Yea, but I didn't think Kahnle was available. And Betances has been rather upset with the Yankees. Adding two guys, one of who could/should be closing isn't going to help.

I wouldn't mind bringing Clip back

Clip's been terrible for the better part of the past two months.

Check out the Home/Away splits. He's a fly ball pitcher in a hitters park. Be interesting to see how he does in Chicago.

Except that until mid-June, he was his usual dominant self regardless of park.

Is it definite that the O's are a non-starter?  Brach would be nice.

Yes. For about a decade now.
