Heard on the radio this weekend that there were 10,000 unsold tickets in Cincinnati...for a recent visit by the Steelers?? I thought those fans travelled like crazy and would have bought up any available seating (like they do when the Steelers visit FedEx).

This league really does seem to be in decline.

Have I mentioned that Gronk play HS ball in Western PA?      :couch:
I  thought he was a Buffalo kid?  or is Buffalo deemed western PA the same way NoVA is deemed Washington?

The Steelers' final play was a mess.  Ben says he wanted to spike it and had called for a spike, but was overruled by Tomlin. However he ran out of time to let everyone know of the change and so there was mass confusion with most of the Steelers thinking it would be a spike.

He moved in HS  ....   probably for a better HS football experience.

Fire Mike Tomlin.

I've done a 180 on this over the last year or so.

I assumed it was for the better education. Especially in Math.

I blame Big Ben. If you don't like the play call them just spoke it. It was also a bad decision on second down to throw it to a guy so far from the end zone and from out of bounds.

Mostly I'm just angry everything happened just to let NE win when they should have lost. Just the way it always does.

Teacher's pet.    I remember our HS coach pickin' out the biggest kid in class on the first day of school.    Called him up front and the teacher/coach gave a little speech, "This is XX XXXX.    He's a defensive tackle on the football team.    I'm tellin' you and him if any of you get out of line, I'm gonna kick his ass."     Never had any discipline problems in, what was then, Problems of Democracy.

It simply can't stand up to the CFL (or curling for that matter)

I heard the Big Ben interview.  It was Haley he was saying who said to run the play.  They showed a screen grab of the final pass as the ball crossed the line of scrimmage.  The only receiver that was even moving was the target.  Bell is standing off to the side, two receivers are a step over the line of scrimmage but not in a route, and the tight end is blocking, sort of, but no one was near him.  Looks like the players were mostly expecting a spike.

The other thing BB supposedly coaches (according to some former assistants) is to not reach for the pylon / goal line as you are completing a catch.  He will bench a player for that. The Pats have gotten a touch back and that incompletion in key situations this year when opponents reach.

Listening to Around the Horn and the consensus seems to be (I agree), "Quit bein' a f*****' diva.    Call a play and go with it."     You've got 14 years, the team's 11-2, ya have two rings and may go to the HOF.     What are they gonna do?    Bench ya?    Afraid of being Manningized?       You think Tom gives a crap about what they call from the sidelines in the last minute of a game that you can win at best and tie up at worst?    Ben is quick to blame everybody but Ben.      :phew:

I’ll leave this here without comment....

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/nbcblk/diddy-kaepernick-others-could-buy-carolina-panthers-make-history-n830841

Roger Goodell would award a franchise to North Korea - or even a second franchise to Jerry Jones - before he'd let an ownership group with Kaepernick in it buy one. Besides, NFL franchises are currently priced in the neighbourhood of $1bn and up - unless Kaepernick is acting as a stalking-horse for George Soros or some liberal tech billionaire, I don't think he has enough capital to bring to the table to be a significant presence in an ownership group.

Carolina has an older stadium, this could be a chance for a buyer from another city (Toronto?) to get a team that’s relatively easy to move
