Zuckerman alluded to the fact that the Nats may be willing to DFA Blanton like they did Papelbon since he is only due 2 Million more. He also said that the probably won't do that with Kelley since he still has one year left and a sizable(ish) amount left on his contract.
He's got a million deferred to next year I think and another 2 for 2019, which we would pay whatever we do (unless he got a new contract for 2018...
), so kinda pedantic, but just shows how bad a contract it was, $7M as opposed to $4M.
