I didn't say articulate. My point was he comes across as being thoughtful in his decisions. On a scale of 10, I'd consider him an 8 or 9, Davey a 6 or 7, Riggleman a 5, letting an xbox make your decisions a 3, and Matt Williams a 1.
He is gregarious, the man likes to talk. Thats part of his charm. I'm sure he's an intelligent human being. Thoughtful in his comments and conversations.
But this is a result based society. Especially moreso in competetive team sports. And there are plenty of ineffectual individuals who are great at excusing away why things are the way they are. And they might even be right. They might even sway you to see that used car would be your perfect match. But for whatever reason, whether it be old school biases to his "instinctual , gut determinations", the results have not been there as a manager. For a longggg time.
How many teams out there would want any of their ex managers back? Can you count them on more than 1 or 2 fingers?
Huh? There are plenty of teams that would like previous managers back. Most teams have pretty long histories with fond memories of managers. Just because the nats only have had Frank, Acta, Riggleman, Davey, Matt Williams, and Dusty in their short history, don't sell fans of other teams short.
Plus, usually managers who take their teams to the playoffs have at least some supporters and detractors after employment. I never see supporters of Dusty from other team forums. Actually I don't remember a single nice thing written.
