Our fault

I can't believe, for the second consecutive game, we've caused Bryce Harper to go 0-4.

I apologize from the bottom of my heart,

I apologized for Trienen's performance this evening. I thought he had it. He didn't.

Bum-ass fans.

If a team needs fans behind them to inspire them into victory, they're freaking losers any way. The Nats are freaking losers and fans aren't going to apologize for not blindly following the blind. Get over it.

Athletes aren't always the brightest bulbs. I'd take a World Series win over your dignity anyday. Our fanbase is pathetic in person.

lol we aren't the ones playing the sport

Yeah, players that are impacted by fans in the seats have no business playing the games. They should be playing with the same effort regardless of where they are or how many people are in the stands. This fanbase has gone through more than enough for a decade and given more support than this organization has ever begun to deserve. They don't know how easy they have it and how much crap they put the fans through. From MLB, to Kasten, to the Lerners, to the bullcrap way they run the game experience, to the cheapness from top to bottom as the ownership refuses to do what it actually takes to deliver on what is needed to take things to the next level, etc. etc. And yet, they never feel they need to answer for their failures. Instead of looking at themselves, they point fingers elsewhere. Blaming a loyal fanbase is complete bullcrap when you go out on the field and play like bums.

That's absolutely true but you're wrong if you don't think that plays a part in the outcome of a big game. Players notice it, clearly they do as they are commenting on it.

DC is a solid baseball city because it's affluent but it can't compete with certain fan bases who live so vicariously through the outcome of sports. I was visiting a friend in Pittsburgh a few weeks ago, he said it goes DEAD in a lot of neighborhoods when the Steelers lose. These people live for their team and it comes across in big games.  DC absolutely has those kinda fans but they also have front runner smucks who don't care about the games but want to be at an event.

Do you think fans are leaving early on a SATURDAY NIGHT POST SEASON GAME in Boston, St Louis, __(insert about 15 other cities here___) No.

Nobody is blaming the fanbase.  It's not ALL OR NOTHING like you're framing it.  But it totally plays a big part, because as much as you don't want to admit it these aren't robots in a video game but humans.

No surprise that after calling out fans, Bryce's bat goes cold.

The bigger question is how much do the players respect their manager?

10 dollar beer is the excuse when half the stadium was empty in the 15th inning of a Saturday night post season game?  I paid $50 bucks for that night by the way, it can be done.  The people on this forum are passionate and NOT the problem but if you can't recognize there's a problem with our fan base you're delusional.

Snark it up all you want but he's right--  DC will never be a city that PULLS A TEAM UP. Only a city that pushes an already great team forward when things are going well.

I wish it wasn't the case but the blue collared fans (I.e. the ones that don't ask me to "please sit down" in a key moment in the bottom of the 14th in the longest post season game of all time), get priced out by the smucks.

It is what it is. You can isolate one of the few clutch post season players we have based on a few games out of 162 but you're emotional, and dead wrong.

There's a lot of tickets for tomorrow for less than 20 bucks on stubhub.  What do you want? 5 dollar tickets?

No, but the fact that some fans walked out when the team was sucking and giving a game away doesn't matter. And that bad fanbase was there again tonight cheering until the bitter end. Do they realize how much crap they would get in other cities for these horrible performances? Why the hell should people be expected to stay around and watch a team that can't put forth a professional effort? Anyone can go out there and walk people. It's disgraceful to call yourself a professional pitching staff when you can't throw strikes at will. You learn that in little league.

True.  For a while the team would get booed off the field and then the fans would just stop showing up.  It's going to be a ghost town next year if the same bums are back.

Like it or not that would never happen for a slew of other teams in the league.

:lmao: the season is over, in other cities they would have been booed off the field tonight and in those great baseball cities, tickets are easy to come by when the teams start sucking- just look at cbp
