I still can't comprehend that 7th inning. Treinen and Rivero have been in the Majors for most of the year and both totally spazzed out and couldn't throw a strike. And then Drew Storen follows suit. I mean how the freak is it possible for all 3 pitchers to look completely lost in a row???

Well, at least the bullpen this weekend wasn't overused, even in four run games.

Oh wait...

Oooops!    :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical:
Not present when the Mets were losing. Comes in after the game has been decided. Yep, sounds like a Mets fan.

Wow. I couldn't watch, this game must have been painful :( poor Manly, his first Nats game :(

It was similar to the Game 5 meltdown in more ways than I care to think about.

We just got back home in the Fashionable West End of Henrico County.  We stayed all 9 innings as we are want to do.

So this will be the first and last post for me on Wednesday, 9/9/15.

I am imposing a 24 hour post ban on myself for asking Spidey to call the game when we were up 7-1.

Sad this didn't turn out any better than it did.

Witnessing that game in person is punishment enough, VaRK, you shouldn't ban yourself on top of it :(

If the season continues this way, the light at the end of the tunnel is it might be the wake-up call we need to clean house. When my Warriors got ousted two years ago and relieved Mark Jackson, I knew it was a big step in the right direction and could be something special moving forward. Williams, our bullpen, and perhaps some of the washed up regulars need to be evaluated bluntly.

D.F.A. Storen, you'll feel better, Misters Lerner.

He has trade value.

[...]ATTENDANCE at this match: 27,507 (66.3% full)   [...]

I got home from the Mystics (they clinched a playoff berth with an OT win*) last night just in time to catch the 9th inning and couldn't believe that attendance figure - where was everybody? Also sounded over the radio like it was half Mets supporters in there.

*yes, my first prime-time sporting event in person in over a year - my comeback is continuing!

For the most part, they should. The STH base is somewhere in the low 20k range to begin with so that counts in all home attendance figures...the lowest home attendance of the season is the aforementioned 23,192 for the first Blue Jays match on Tuesday 2nd June, and on only four other occasions have the Nats drawn below 25k this year:

24,768 - Thursday 16th April vs Phillies
24,731 - Monday 4th May vs Marlins
23,673 - Monday 6th July vs Reds
23,536 - Friday 4th September vs Braves

The Nats spent $$$ on Pabelbon...why not use him? Storen has been pouting ever since he was 'demoted'.....bone head pitching decisions followed by...what else...??? no more hitting....most of this team should be arrested and jailed for grand theft...they are taking money under false pretenses..

It seems almost too easy to call but since that was a little league looking play I'll go for it and proclaim this one on the books.

:w:  :whip:

BTW, let's hear it for NatsGirl. She has to keep going since the Nats have not lost back to back games since he took over gdt duties.

I was screaming in January that this bullpen would be trouble.  I was screaming in June that the bullpen was terrible.  Then the response was "getting bullpen help at the deadline is the easiest thing".

Yeah right.

You also scream "BUNT" a lot.  And you're wrong.

I made the mistake of listening to Phil Wood on the way home from the park last night.  Not Matts fault. Storen does not have mental issues--it's just mechanics. What an apologist for this sorry team.

After criticizing the little league play the Nats displayed how little league they are. I should've waited for an 11 run lead.  :-[

11 run lead wouldn't have mattered.
