I guess I can take the money I'm saving from not renewing my plan or buying playoff tickets and put it towards a new car.
That or bet it on the Mets

Matt seemed to be looking for friends in the postgame presser.  He's finally cracked...

The worst part, unlike in 2013, there is an uncertainty surround the future of the team and if they will come close to competing again any time soon.

Good point. 2013 was disappointing, but at least the window was still open. It's closing now...

Harper was not happy at the end of this one.  I think he finally realizes we're finished.

What'd he say/do?

Started expanding on his answers in a manner that made it look like he was actually being cooperative and looking for...understanding...

Going to bottom 9 in Flushing, still tied. Seems like the Mutts use Familia every night and he's still nails.

People in the NY metro, tune into SNY for the imminent walk off and Gary Cohen losing his mind.

It's gotta come back to bite them at some point.  Collins has had him pitch multiple 4 and 5 out saves, in games with 4+ run leads, in situations like this, etc.

Wright hits into a 6-4-3 DP.  Channelling his inner Zimmerman.

Was at the game tonight--microcosm of the entire season.  Wasted opportunities.  Ramos hits a ball that deflects off the pitcher right to the second baseman.  Poor hitting in the sixth after loading the bases.  Scherzer giving up home runs.  Prado somehow golfing a low inside fastball (Charlie and Dave were wondering after the game if Dee Gordn was relaying the signs to him).

Ruined a very beautiful night at the park; moon was on full display in RF.

Another walk and the Mutts score. Base hit now will tie it. And Cespedes is up, of course. If it was us, it would be Ramos coming up...

Uribe's at second, so maybe a good throw gets him.  If it's in the gap the game is over with Granderson at first.

Bases loaded, no outs, one run  ....  no win.   It was an odd night at the Park.   The fans tried to get into it but the enthusiasm seemed sporadic and generally weak.   Maybe I expected more on a Friday night in a pennant race.   Perhaps it was because I didn't drink any beer.   Maybe it was because Friday night crowds tend to have a "look at me" feel to them anyway.      There was a white pigeon (dove) flying over the first base/right field side of the stadium after dark.    It seemed confused by the lights.    When it finally made it through an opening along the right field line, there was more applause than during some Nats at bats.    Turner got a nice hand for the run down the right field line to catch a foul ball.   The boy is fast.   Very fast.     To my uninformed eye, he looks a bit overwhelmed at the plate.   Kind of like a first year 9 year old in Little League going up against the other team's 12 year old.        I guess that should be expected.     Lots of scoreboard watching in my Section.

I believe he's only struck out once though, so that's good.
