Bryce Harper said he fouled the ball off the top of his foot. Felt bad instantly but better now. He said x-rays were negative.

Glad I went to bed early; can't take any more of this pathetic bunch.  Pirates take two from the Mets and we do nothing.

I disagree, losing to LA is nothing - losing to Vogey, Cain and Peavy? Inexcusable. Peavy and Cain each ended up giving up 5 runs. Vogey was on the ropes in the first inning. But they let him get away with it and he settled in as they flailed at garbage pitching, and vs Cain and Peavy the starters never gave the team a chance and the bullpen gave them no chance to come back. We finally score 5+ runs in two games and it means nothing. This is the most out-of-sync team I've ever seen, since the ASB we've had great pitching performances with no runs, great hitting performances with horrid pitching, and then great of both but the bullpen loses the game for us. Horrendous.

The inconsistency of this team is what's so miserable. Last year's Nats and this year's Mets, you know what you're getting. They might never score but at least they'll prevent runs so they'll be in every game. This "historic rotaton" is probably the biggest flop of a rotation in MLB history. I'm a youngin so I would love to hear some comparisons and be wrong.

:hysterical:This morning's 106.7 host was talking about the Nats' losing...he blames most on the pitchers, which has merit, but he also mentioned that this team has a bunch of clods raking in buckets of cash who are performing at the federal minimum wage level....in other words, the only thing most of these duffers are thinking about (because it certainly is not baseball!) is their next bloated pay check.
Only Harper and Escobar are making a considerable effort to earn their dinero....the rest are just showing up, while trying to show off...I was out of town for about 10 days, and tuned in ESPN from time to time...about the only mention of the Nats was after yet another loss....when they (rarely) won, they got an 8 second clip; when they lost, the talking heads played minutes of video showing these eff-ups at their true 'talent' level...which is pathetic.
No fire, no strategy, no learning from their vast amount of mistakes (mostly hitting, or what passes for hitting) while their vaunted pitching staff's era climbs over 4....but their paychecks keep comin' in.
This team is really 2005 with a larger payroll but similar results.

I see the Nats website is touting Desmond's 477 ft home run velocity.....while ignoring his 200 mph whiffs at krappy pitches...
