Well that was a really nice surprise win tonight. Did not think that would happen. No idea where we would be without Espi's play this year (never thought I would write that!). I enjoyed the broadcast tonight also, so much more than the ESPN one the other night, which was just torture...

Glad Scherzer is pitching tomorrow, no need to waste him on an exhibition game...

Agreed....and Agreed on the previous post. FP was good.

This was a.."this team needs help" game to...."oh hell yeah" game very quickly. I let homos like PC bring me down too often when I watch (and read) games.

First game at Camden since 1997 I think, so my Angelos fueled boycott is finally over.

Beautiful park, more beautiful win.

That Harper homer was absolutely crushed btw, I didn't think it would get out, seemed too low. Man what a laser beam.

The still need help, I couldn't believe the lineup when I read it.

I was stuck with Sox/Yankees and the Fox A broadcasting team is dreadful, I like Reynolds ok but man that crew makes ESPN's seem stellar by comparison. Good to see the :w: and even better to see that Max will pitch tomorrow :woop:

Anything that makes ESPN ("Remember I played with X,, Y, & Z") broadcast groups seem good must be awful/Hades... My gripe with the ESPN broadcasts is they don't really live in the present, rarely seem to analyze or comment on what they are seeing, but just ALWAYS in their own past.... zzzzz

Would love for Max to take this one today, we have not fared well in these beltway battles....

I haven't been up in years either, perhaps since running into Jason Bergmann        but a friend texted with two extras, so I took my son up.  Couldn't find reasonable parking online so we parked at the North Linthicum light rail station and took the round trip in right to the park, worked great.

I was surprisd to see so many Nats fans up there, there were a lot.  20, 25% maybe?

Great game, even got in some Balmer poutine (waffle fries covered in an Old Bay crab sauce)

Way to go Nats, made the evening for us with the big runs late.

That was one of the foods they showed and talked about on ESPN.

Do our players realize how painful it is to Nats fans to lose to the Orioles?  Do they give a rip at all about that?  Baltimore plays with a chip on their shoulder, just like the city.  I HATE to lose to these guys.  Damn it!

I'm not sure they are really plugged into fan sentiment that much, but some read the message boards or twitter, and in the past when I was up at Camden for a series I'd go early and chat up a few of them doing their outfield workouts.  I'd always try to make that point, not that it helps them but it made me feel better.

you mean you would rather see him pitch in a mid-season interleague matchup rather than give the Nats home field advantage in the WS?

Was at the game last night in Section 69.  Pretty good turn out for the Nats.  Left after the stretch and watched on the concourse as Treinen walked the first two in the 7th inning.  Then as we were exiting the gates we heard a roar and my wife said "Uh oh" but it wasn't loud enough to be a home crowd roar, so impressive that all the Nats fans there made a bunch of noise (the roar was for Ramos's throw to third on the bunt).

Other notes:  man that is a small park.  I hadn't been in three years and visually you can tell how compact it is.  I dare say that the O's homers would have been long outs and the Nats homers would have been doubles off the walls at Nats park.

We were sitting behind 3rd base and had a great view of the game, and on that play I honestly thought the guy was safe at third. It was a bad angle to judge the call from and I was a little surprised when Buck didn't challenge.

This complete Orioles fan went absolutely berserk screaming at the umpire. You would think even dumb drunk crab heads would realize that if Buck didn't challenge or argue that the call was correct, but apparently not. I was embarrassed for his girlfriend/wife/whatever.

We were in 31, way way up in the back under the overhang, obstructed view for any fly ball. So, they had TV's to compensate a bit, and the replay of that play showed he was clearly out, no controversy.
