No one will be mad.  No one will be embarrassed.  There definitely won't be any soul searching.

That's why this team is so bad, so unspeakably bad.

Lol. Even with two outs they'll still probably bring the guy on 3rd home.

Cueto actually had to try to run slower than Ramos.

What does that say about the 25 other teams with worse records?

They're not being swept in a season series to the Reds.  This blow can't just be brushed off as one of those things.

So, teams should be ranked solely on their performance versus the Reds?

Hey, we season ticket holders could save a lot of money if they adopt that plan.

Somebody should revive the worst offensive performance thread.    Considering the opponent, this has to be pretty close to the worst.

The Reds are a bad team that's are on the cusp of sweeping the Nationals in the season series where the Nationals have been barely competitive.

You make of that what you want.

You mean one of the 10 best pitchers in the game?

Quote from: Matugi
Nats will crush future Yankee Johnny Cueto tomorrow.

I guess you might be able to consider ruining his no-hitter "crushing".

I want my million dollars back for that start...
Has Bochy announced who will start the All Star game?  Scherzer didn't help his cause at all tonight.

Max Scherzer
All of Max's starts are dedicated to his late brother, Alex Scherzer R.I.P.

Pitchers            IP    H   R   ER   BB   SO   HR   PC-ST
Max Scherzer  4.2   7    5     5       0       4      1      81-59

Max Scherzer owes me $5,000 for this game, plus his past due bill.

 GAME OVER.

How about this - bad teams beat good teams frequently in baseball.  You've been around long enough to have observed that, haven't you?  We've been swept by bad teams before and we've swept good teams when we were bad.  Remember the Mets fan killing his mother over a Nats sweep?

Sure, but Cueto is as good as anyone in the game. There's no shame in getting shut down by him. You said to consider the opponent, so I did.

Only five pages...shortest GDT since 27th September 2014 which also went that many pages.

Announced attendance 31,898, at least a third of whom (per the sounds on the radio broadcast) must have been Reds supporters.

Nats are on the verge of being swept by a team that, immediately prior to this series, was swept at home by the lowly Brewers with an aggregate score of 25-5...simply unacceptable.

Terp - your rationale would be ok if we hadn't just been swept by the Reds

With our current lineup, unless the SP gives up two or less runs, we're toast....
