4 great pitching performances - like we expected - but hitting still needs some work

5-2 week.  It may not have all been easy to watch but two big series wins against Atlanta and the Mets tell me we're back on track. It's a long season grind but we've already cut the Mets' division lead in half in 6 days.  Nice way to start.

The second part of your sentence is very understated.

Get zombie boy Werth out of the 3 hole. He's horrible.

walks are usually wasted in the 3 spot.  I'd give Desi a shot.

Why not put aim back in the 3 hole, hit harper 4 werthless 6 and desk 5. Hell I'd even hit Ramos and espi ahead of werth right now

Maybe Ramos should hit third. Otherwise, nobody is hitting well enough to earn 3/4/5 spot. Until Rendon returns, whenever that is, the batting order will be shaky. (And next year, minus Desmond and Span???)

My primary concern with Ramos at three is   ....   s     l    o    w

Werth needs to eat some face.
BABIP is currently sitting at .220 (entering today's game), over .100 below his career average despite a LD% above his career average though down a bit from his last two years.  The IF/FB% is the highest it's ever been which is concerning but not significantly higher than it was in his 2012 campaign when the BABIP was .356.  Even if Werth isn't quite his old self yet (and I don't think he is) the numbers overwhelmingly predict a regression towards the mean and would indicate strongly that his current struggles are a result of luck and can only be remedied by sample size.  There just isn't any explanation that comes close to the deterioration in Werth's BABIP outside of luck.

He isn't really hitting the ball that hard right now, though, which is a bigger concern for me. I haven't seen any flashes of power from him and that's extremely troublesome if we're going to keep trotting him out there in the #3 spot.

Yell and a fist pump in the car for this win. Felt great!

PS I went with my son to the Senators @ Baysox game. Didn't get to watch much baseball but Renda had some killer at bats.
