yawn ... time to check WNFF after going to the past two games.  Wish I didn't have the ice coffee at 9 or so yesterday . . .  Wait, what do I see?  I had a lot of respect for mim on this . . .  you mean to say he's missed your posts that say you can replace a DL'd player  heading into the playoffs with anyone who was in your system prior to 9/1 regardless of whether he was on the 40 man or 25 man roster on 8/31?  Should you post the multiple links from prior posts that back up what you are saying?  Nah, it's too much effort to trace that down.  Probably buried in the Turner thread or one of the roster threads.

Not so sure, after this upcoming week not many people will be thinking about the playoffs anymore. I know I'm already done with that fantasy.

Bryce gets little protection and thinks he has to do it all himself. He's the hardest working son of a nag on the team.

Jayson and Zimm are old and don't hit well. Ramos is a disappointment. Taylor isn't experienced enough at bat.

They just aren't as good as everyone thought they were.

They have been learning that for 3 years now.  It won't suddenly sink in now.  Look at Harper and his where's my ring comment.  They thought they could win just by showing up at the ball field.  Usually in sports you have to also try somewhat.  What a bunch of underachieving lazy entitled pricks.

I have the same rule, albeit with fantasy football. I've missed on a few really good players in the years, but it's worth it not feeling dirty when rivals' players do well. I won one year too, so no freaks given here. Even if the results suck, I prefer to have a good time both watching sports and fantasy teams.

Our problem is not the Mets.  Our problem is we are not a good team.  9-14 since the ASB, and 11-17 in our last 28 games.  That doesn't even qualify as mediocre.  If we would have just went 5-2 on this homestand we would be back in 1st place.  One week from today, we could be a below .500 team.

I agree with everything...  except the Mystics.  Have we really sunk so low that the WNBA team is the only team worth paying attention to?  Even less people care about the WNBA than the regular NBA.

When Daniel Snyder owns one's local NFL franchise, and when the owner of one's local NBA and NHL franchises really isn't much of an improvement (too obsessed with 'gameday experiences', fancy lounges and clubs and other esoterica to worry about the core businesses), and one's local MLB franchise is underachieving horrendously...then I'm afraid, as far as finding local champions/contenders, beggars can't be choosers.

Certainly better than their predecessors, but can this outfit really go deeper than the second round? (I will admit the Wizards look better equipped for a deep post-season run than the Capitals.)

I'm not sure about better than their predecessors (except for Wittman maybe).    I believe Johnson and Shanahan were better in their day.   Unfortunately, we were a few years late on their prime years.      Now if you're talkin' Acta, Riggleman, etc.    Oh hell yeah.
