I'd trade for Arod and put him at third, moving Rendon to second. That 1.055 OPS would look good in the lineup

Nats ended up losing to the Mariners in the World Series in six games.

So Star Wars Battlefront is going to be, basically, a game from 2006 with improved graphics. Linear maps, limited environment destruction,  AT-AT and other vehicles will be on a set path

That is pretty damning right there. And I'm sure the DLC packs combined will cost roughly a bazillion dollars.

Wasn't it reported that there were more than 8 maps?

Anyone who expected EA to actually break out with a great, in-depth feature was fooling themselves. I know that this is going to be a Battlefield re-skin but am cool with that because I'll enjoy it most likely. I'll still complain about it the entire time, though.

I have no idea what this is about, but the last line made me think "Back to the Future."

Wife wanted to buy Thief for Xbox. I pointed her to Skyrim instead. Figure this will buy me months for the home improvement projects.

Nathan, I was interested in the commercials... what exactly do you do? Is it a RTS?

It's a MOBA.  Like LoL or Dota2

Nothing like it. Halo is an FPS.

MOBA from what I've seen I'd call a frantic RTS without resource management.

Yes, well so is a Fallout 4 trailer. I think I'm going to dig up some graphics mods for New Vegas and start a new playthrough.

Ah... I'm with you on that one actually.  My wife watched me play parts of New Vegas. My 19 y/o daughter is insanely psyched for it (she played FO3 and New Vegas).  I actually hooked the laptop up to the TV last night and will play FO1, 2, 3 and NV for my wife who's never seen any of them except a few snips of NV.

Nathan, or anyone that knows computers...

Should I be excited about a Steam Machine?

How long are they going to last before they are obsolete? Are they going to require constantly buying new internal parts to upgrade? Would I be playing with other CPU users or those that only are using the Steam Machine?

Personally, I am -hugely- skeptical of set top box solutions.  I've lost count of how many of them were either vaporware or produced with massive marketing campaigns and absolutely garbage product.  Toss in things like Sega's multiple failed attempts to go from software vendor to hardware. Or Atari.

I'd give it at least six months after release to see what people have to say about them before I'd even consider touching one.  Valve has a LOT of die hard fan boys. I'm not saying Steam is a bad product/service, but essentially they started out making software, created a digital distribution service and have been resting on their laurels ever since, raking in massive profit from their cut of Steam sales.  They don't have to ensure the games are bug free. They don't have to give refunds or take heat from customers. They're simply a profit making distribution channel.

I like Valve's past products well enough. I think Steam is a DRM laced piece of filth that encouraged publishers to push DLC harder than ever.  But I view the Steam Machine as analogous to Burger King opening up a line of Burger Tax joints designed to help you e-file and get maximum refund.  Two completely different animals trading on good will regarding their name (okay, assuming BK has any name related good will)

"Steam Machines" are for the most part PCs in a tidy form factor running Valve's Linux distro.  The ones that aren't are essentially low powered ARM based machines designed to stream the game from your gaming PC to your TV.

SteamOS (Valve's Linux distribution) is freely available so you can put it on your own PC.  You'll get massively better performance per dollar that way, rather than buying a pre-built.

Upgrading?  No more so than a PC, which all depends on how powerful it is when you build it and if you're fine with turning the graphics down as newer titles come out.  Not that they'll look bad by any stretch, you just won't be always able to push everything to max.

For perspective, my PC is over 5 years old.  I recently upgraded the GPU because new titles had to be dropped to medium or low graphics even sometimes.  Still playable, but I like to push things up.
