Did he just sing that one song? You couldn't tell from the TV coverage how long the intermission acts were...

Yes...just that one...and he did it very well.  They should have started Billy Idol earlier so he could have had time for more than 3 songs.

Glad everyone who made it in person had a great time.  I caught periods two and three on the TV.  Watching on the tube leaves something to be desired given the camera angles and moving camera.  was nice to have an exciting game and thanks to the refs for that phantom call on Toews to make up for the poor officiating earlier!!  Hope the Caps don't have a letdown; after everything it's just two points.

I actually like the song and think it was more than appropriate for this type of event.  However, on TV it appears that most of the song he is just talking rather than singing.  Not sure if that is how the recorded version goes.

Think I am officially last of the boomers. Line is blurred with us and Gen X.
Lots of things are blurry after the 70s.

What a fabulous day and what a game!  I was on the edge of my seat the whole game.  And when the Caps killed that 5-on-3 penalty - that to me was the turning point of the game.  Holtby is amazing.  And then when they scored that final goal with just seconds left - well the place just exploded.  There are no words to describe it.

I second the kudos to NHL and everyone else involved in pulling this thing off.  Very well done on all fronts.  From the miniature Reflecting Pool in front of the miniature Capitol to the infield being covered with snow to even having the seat cushions already in place at every seat - every little touch was perfect.  And yep, I'm a flyover junkie too - love those things!

Maybe we could keep that miniature Capitol and mount it on top of the Red Loft, since we never got the big baseball that was shown in the original drawings.

Pretty funny how many of those seat cushions went flying when Brouwer scored with 12 seconds left.

One hit me in the head.  Somehow rather fitting, I suppose...  :)

Reminded me of that Redskins playoff game back in the early 1990s with the shower of yellow seat cushions every time the Skins did something good.

Only real negative about the experience in my opinion was the hideous crowding in the concourses. I felt like I had to fight my way through to the men's room. It seems obvious when you think about it later, but in advance I don't think it really occurs to anyone how the traffic flow for a hockey game is fundamentally different from baseball because during a baseball game, people are always coming and going due to the slower pace, whereas for hockey everyone streams out onto the concourse at the same time during intermission.

Scene on the third-base side with around 12 or 13 minutes to go in the first intermission as I was trying to fight my way across from Section 114 to the men's room. I made it back to my seat with about two minutes left in intermission. Glad I didn't try to get any food during the game.

I left my husband in the concourse for about 10 minutes while I went to get a beer - by the time I got back he already had scored a selfie with a Red Rocker!!

Was indeed a great game to attend. Of course even better since we won it in such dramatic fashion.

Hope MLB is watching. Nats Park needs to host an All-Star game. And hopefully we host some World Series games next October. :D

I kinda like the moving camera. Maybe just cuz it was different. But i think I might like it more once I get used to it

To each his own.
I like to sit in one spot when I watch a game.

Do you know the history with the Blackhawks' logo?   Seems like it's been around a while.

It has undergone a number of iterations in the past 88 years, but the concept has always remained the same.

The current one took it's basic form in the mid-'50's...

Wiki says it was named by the original owner after his military division nickname...

Awesome.   Im surprised video of the cushions being thrown hasnt been publicized!  It was unreal!  I almost caught one.  I got my 3 favorite souvenirs.   A Racing presidents tshirt, a reusable cup that was served with hot chocolate in it (without alcohol it wa $10) and a program.
