Seven years, $100 million for Kyle Seager. Baseline for a Rendon deal, perhaps?

Not Rizzo's style, he'll wait long enough to get serious that fans will agree it's just too much or too many years and the team is smart to let him walk (its working perfectly with Desmond and Zimmermann)

Given that Bogaerts is around average defensively in SS position (according to fangraphs UZR,) I think he can be a solid 2B. But he was constantly showing his frustration about the Red Sox playing him as 3B not SS, and I don't think he would wanna play 2B.

Bogaerts was considered well above average in the minors. Think he just needs some time to adjust.

Most of us want to keep Zimmermann. Rendon is a better player than Desmond. Even his career year isn't as good as Rendon. Lock him up now before we have to pay him like an MVP/Batting champ.

I think most people have given up on a Zimmermann extension

With a player opt out after year four not clear why a team like the Diamondbacks would do this?

I thought that was consensus after he chose to go undrafted instead of signing with us. Also sticking us with Drew Storen. The long con.

Don't have to like him, but he's not a traitor. He just chose to not sign with us. Plus it's not like he's been amazing since he came up. Drew's been better than him, outside of 2013.  Nats came out the better in the end. Leave him be.

KC acquired LHP Brian Flynn and RHP/2B Reid Redman from the Marlins. Flynn pitched in 6 games in the major league, posting 8.64 ERA, and posting 1.84 ERA in 88 innings pitched in A~AA levels, Redman has had a pretty good minor league career as a pitcher.

This. He wanted more money than he was worth. Frankly, we got a better pitcher.

Oakland reportedly working on multiple trades. Insert Slate begging for a Donaldson trade to Washington here.

I'm surprised that Aaron Sanchez isn't involved. Kudos to Slate for predicting a Donaldson deal. I did not anticipate that.

Toronto also sent LHP Sean Nolin through the Donaldson trade. In conclusion,
A's get: Lawrie, Nolin, Barreto, and Graveman
Blue Jays get: Donaldson

Lawrie is Lawrie
I don't know much about Nolin
Graveman is a groundball reliever
Barreto is an 18 year old A-ball SS with a 4-5 WAR star-caliber ceiling

A's left fielder Josh Reddick told the Chronicle it is apparent the team is in a rebuilding phase.

"This doesn't make sense to me. We just traded our best player the last two years," he told the newspaper.
