Steven Souza has been the top 'trending' topic on Twitter since the game ended.   The guys is a star!

J Zimm is second, BTW.

Bill Stoneman tossed two no hitter for Montreal.

Yes and Charlie Lea had 1. So this is franchise number 5.

Charlie Slowes call

Came back from a busy day and watched the 8th and 9th. The atmosphere at the park looked electric. The 9th was unforgettable. My friend and I watched the catch and said, "No way."

I looked it up on ESPN---Bill Stoneman had 2 (One in the Expos inaugural year), Charlie Lau had one, and the last one was Dennis Martinez' perfect game.

If people outside Montreal don't remember Charlie Lau's no-hitter it might partly be because Len Barker of the Indians threw a no-hitter against the Blue Jays five days later.

Dick Bosman, who was the expansion Senators' best pitcher while they were in DC threw a no-hitter for the Indians in 1974.

Just got back from a mini vacation for hubby's birthday. I just wanted to pop in and say hi.. I am so excited now for the playoffs. First Fister and his CGSO and now JZimm and his no-no. Today rocked. The whole Span thing was very touching. I know some of you do not think he should be resigned but I really want him to stay. He has been awesome for us this year and just genuinely seems like a team guy and so truly thankful for his time with this team.

anyway...I think Matt Williams did a great job managing the line-up post clinch. He started the regulars enough to keep our wins up and clinch best record but everyone should be fresh and ready. I wish we had gotten to 98 to tie 2012 but we will surpass 2012 when it matters most.October!!!!!

If only Atlanta would stop refusing to lose...

I don't think ATL will  lose another game this year.

The team has a $9 million option for 2015. Span will be back next season.

The Marlins broadcast had a great shot of Zimmermann's disappointment off the bat. Now that's drama.

That has become almost as popular a shot as the Souza catch.  Just the complete range of reaction / emotion.

I've been watching the Senators/Nationals for many years.  This game today was one of the most exciting ever - Jordan was Supreme and Steven Souza was Spectacular.  A tip of the cap to Matt Williams for putting Souza in left when he did.  Ryan Zimmerman might have made the catch but he would have killed himself.  Now it's on to the playoffs and hopefully the brilliant play through-out this year continues through October.

I'm rewatching the game with C&D overlaid. Bryce and Ian made nice defensive plays in the first that shouldn't be forgotten, with an assist to LaRoche and his unteachable height.

If Bryce and span are playing, who gets that ball? Or do we see the most spectacular collision ever?

Scrolling through the Souza tweets, this may be because no one can spell Zimmermann's name. Even the Marlins broadcast today got it wrong at points.

probably a fair amount of people wondered how on earth Ryan Zimmerman could throw a no-hitter.
