i keep hoping/waiting for Desmond to heat up and carry this team for a week or two.  He's done it in the past.

Harper too, what a bone-headed move in the game earlier.

Trying to think of a pair of games like these last two...maybe 1986 World Series, Game 6 (the famous one) and Game 7 -- Boston took a 3 - 0 lead, held it until the bottom of the 6th, but I knew the Mets would win...so, no, not even '86 matches these crazy Nats wins.

As a sixth grader who stayed up late for that game six I appreciate and endorse this comment

Just got in the door back from the park to the country. Wowie zowie, two nights in a row of walk off extra inning baseball! I have no voice! Sitting in the front row was sweet. We did have a sign and we did hold it up as runs were crossing the plate and I did shoot finger guns when LaRoche walked it off but I'm sure you couldn't see us at all. Oh well. Free Sam Adams doesn't suck. The buffet was awesome. It was fun talking smack to the D-backs on deck hitters who were right in front of us. Werth gave us a ball after the game. Saw good old Bob Carpenter afterwards in the lobby. Listened to the presser in the club through the window. Jinxed Matt on the, "but that's baseball."
Big fun, lucky seven. Keep it rolling Nats!   :w:

Not even those delicious dollar dogs could draw them in.
This was one of those games if you are in a season ticket group that does a lottery that was languishing near the end.

What a game. You know I read comments (on FB) about how a good team shouldn't be put into having to perform walk-offs, instead the pitchers should lock it up for them. However, given our past woes, I'm happy to see that this team is able to pull it off. At the end of the day a curly W is a curly W no matter how it's earned.

Pitching goes through slumps. Especially the pen.

Think about it like this: The bullpen has blown three straight games and the Nationals have won all three.

There have been plenty of days where the pen has picked up the lineup (16 innings in Milwaukee?). It's the lineup's turn.
