Yesterday, a fellow with a big camera and a press badge spotted my Livo shirt, with curly-W and away hat, and asked me to point to the curly-W and shout "Go Nats!" four times for an intro to MASN. They cut part of my intro, which was to shout "Mickey Vernon" and "Roy Sievers", but my sister-in-law saw the "Go Nats!" cheer about 11 minutes into the broadcast.
Wow!
I'm now one of the faces and voices of all Nats fans who suffered through the '50s and '60s and then the awful "33 year road trip".
Senators' fans are loyal to our team. Absolutely. Eddie Yost, Harmon Killebrew, Ken McMullen, Ryan Zimmerman, Anthony Rendon. Ah, to have a combination third baseman who has Yost's batting eye (.394 lifetime OBP across 18 seasons), hits like Killebrew (the baseball had a dent after Harmon connected), fields like McMullen and Zimmerman, hits in the clutch like Zim, and has a swing and a throw like Rendon!
Ah, to be about six games above that Braves team accidentally playing in Atlanta!!! (Without Warren Spahn, Eddie Matthews, Del Crandell, and the amazing Henry Aaron, the Braves are just a collection of empty uniforms.)
